Abstract:Posttraumatic Growth,refers to the individual in the face of traumatic life events or circumstances,in the process of struggle to experience the positive changes in the psychological aspects.Parents of children with intellectual disabilities are able to endure the pain of this trauma while tending their children with disabilities in their daily lives,and on the other hand so different experiences often trigger them to generate new insights into life.Therefore,this study will study the "post-traumatic growth" of parents of children with intellectual disabilities,and combine their own learning experiences as volunteers and interns.We use the qualitative research method to study the semi-structured interview questionnaire,Parents of intellectual disabled children listen to their voices for in-depth interviews and use the explanatory phenomenology method to encode and analyze the interviewed information.First of all,the parents of children with intellectual disabilities will experience the five stages of post-traumatic growth,followed by the period of pain,duration of struggle,exhaustion period,passive acceptance period,active growth period;secondly,their growth Finally,the child’s growth,the internal belief system and the external support system are three core factors to promote the growth of parents after trauma,and the other is the self-regulation,the sense of responsibility,patience,empathy and so on.And the formation of post-traumatic support system.Finally,according to the study found,combined with the relevant theory proposed to promote parents "post-traumatic growth"three suggestions:first,make full use of the general school and special school resources to carry out various activities to help parents overcome the "trauma";second,Non-governmental organizations or parents of spontaneous organizations to start the same type of disabled children between the parents of mutual aid activities;third,the need for psychological assistance to the needs of parents of psychological counseling services.
