This is a project report on the translation of Chapters 4 & 5 of Handbook for Teacher Educators: Transfer,Translate or Transform,edited by Susan Rodrigues,a professor in education.The book,co-authored by several experienced international teacher educators,is a thought-provoking informative text,aiming at exploring the possibility and means of transferring,translating or transforming teacher education.The chosen parts focus on how teacher educators can develop their subject knowledge as well as their professional and personal integrity,and how to get early teacher educators prepared with their own expertise and experience.This report is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1 is the translation project description,including the background and the significance of the project and the structure of the report.Chapter 2 is an introduction to the source text,including the background of these authors,main contents and linguistic features of the source text.According to Katharina Reiss' s text typology theory,the source text belongs to informative category.So the translator should concentrate on accuracy and readability.Combining text typology with translation skills and practice,Chapter 3 emphasizes the translation theory and the related preparation.Chapter 4 focuses on the difficulties encountered and translation skills adopted in translating process.The last part concludes with the lessons and implication gained as well as the problems unsolved.
