The Study Of Metaphors In Lu Yin’s Novels

Lu Yin was a flamboyant star in the May Fourth period,with her fluent and natural style,showing the awakening young men and women were depressed,anxious and struggled after the May Fourth Movement.Her novels illuminate the darkness of old China.Her novels languages are fluent,natural and distressed,using many Chinese traditional poetry to increase the charm of the novels.The refined and deep metaphor adorned in her novels makes her works more charming and interesting.This paper takes the metaphor in Yin’s novels as research object.Based on the text of the Yin’s novels,we conduct detailed analysis and study,attempting to analyze metaphor adorned in her works generated linguistic fascination.The paper is divided into four parts: The first part is an introduction,mainly analyzed the thesis research status,research significance and research methods,as well as research objects;The second part mostly analyzes the ontology of metaphor in Yin’s novels.The ontology roughly divides into character ontology and ontology of things,and both of them have their own characteristics: character ontology is known that personal ontology focused on first-person and female noumenon has a preference for educated women.Ontology of things typically depicts the natural landscapes,portraying things related body,describing the emotional things.The third part specifically analyzes the vehicles of metaphor in Yin’s novels.Lu Yin prefers to choose vehicles associated with nature and it represents the characters of fresh nature,pretty delicate and classical beauty.The fourth part discusses the comparative study about Lu Yin and Zhang Ailing.By comparing their metaphor,we find the ontology has their own features,mainly expressing in personal ontology,social ontology and female noumenon.Tn addition,Their vehicles have differs in vehicles about social things,animal metaphor and female vehicles.Because of different family background and social environment,they have different styles.This thesis focuses on linguistics,especially from the perspective of rhetoric studying Yin’s novels.We use many ways to analyze the ontology,vehicles and the comparison with Zhang Ailing’s study,such as data statistics,quantitative and qualitative research and so on.Through our research,we hope to integrated construct the feature of metaphor in Yin’s novels,filling a gap in the rhetoric research of Yin’snovels,so that we can provide some references for other scholars to carry out the research.
