The Ancient Nomads' Vehicle In Rock Art

The thesis,《The Ancient Nomads' Vehicle in Rock Art—As the example that 152 groups of Rock Art Vehicles in Central Asia》is composed of six parrs which are the introduction,the origin of the nomads' vehicle,the rock art about vehicle,the essential type of the nomads' vehicle,the conclusion and the bibliography.The introduction mainly includes the research survey,the research purpose and the research method.In first chapter,the author firstly gave the systematic elaboration for the prerequisites that the ancient nomads invented vehicle on the base of the introduction for three basic concepts about the origin of vehicle(i.e.the origin from West Asia said,the origin from Central Asia said,the origin from East Asia said)in the academic circle.The animal domestication by the ancestor,the development level of the production technology and the early production method of raising livestock were the material base for engendering vehicle in the ancient time undoubtedly.Secondly,the transportation(i.e.Bolohai,Qirag)need of the ancient nomads' society has also laid the foundation for engendering vehicle in the ancient time.In second chapter,the author divided the distributed route of the rock art about vehicle figure into three regions such as A- west region,B- central region,C- east region, according to the distributed situation of the rock art about the ancient vehicle was discovered in Central Asia.The purpose was studied the content and the cultural connotation of the rock art in different area and in different vehicle subject.The author has also adopted the quite research between the archaeology materials and the folklore materials,when he studied the content and the cultural connotation of the rock art about the ancient vehicle figure.In third chapter,the author made the meticulous research about the ancient nomads' vehicle type on the base that the content and the cultural connotation of the rock art about the ancient vehicle figure in second chapter.He gave the systematic research for the basic structure and evolution of the ancient vehicle such as wheel,axle,thill,graduated arm (or yoke),sedan chair etc.He has thought that the embryonic form of the ancient vehicle was the single thill vehicle.The hub's appearance causes the change that the board wheel to the spoke wheel and the heavy vehicle to the light vehicle.It made a possibility for the appearance of war vehicle.Generally speaking,the hub's appearance is the great innovation for the wheel or the vehicle.The author took the rock art about the ancient vehicle in Central Asia as the material to research the appearance and evolution of the nomads' vehicle.He thought that the appearance,the development,the rise and fall process of the nomads' vehicle was from the nomads' vehicle(vehicle hunting)to the war vehicle(light vehicle).The development of the ancient nomads' vehicle(Ger vehicle,Awning vehicle)had also proven the historical spanning from the ridden skill(ride on the vehicle)to the equestrian skill.In other words,the vehicle culture of the nomads had contained the equestrian skill prospered in the later period.
