Textbooks are important to teachers and students.The compilation of textbooks has always been the focus of research on education and training of professional skills.In the sphere of higher education,approaches to textbook compilation,including ideas,strategies and methods,have been influenced by the development of pedagogical philosophies and psychological theories.Since the 1990s,textbook writers have paid more attention to the intrinsic needs,learning psychology and cognitive development of textbook users,especially students.In this respect,Schema Theory has proved an important guiding theory for textbook writing,which has important implications for the design and compilation of textbooks on interpreting.At present,the Internet is widely used in all fields,and all kinds of learning materials and theories are dazzling and perplexing to students,who have to face the fragmented situation.Students and learners need guidance from textbook.Therefore,this study attempts to examine the application of Schema Theory in textbook writing for interpreter training.A case study of Challenging Interpreting:A Coursebook of Interpreting Skill(2014)has been conducted with a view to finding scientific ways,such as designing textbooks according to inner need of the students and cognitive rules,so as to effectively enhance the capacity of students for autonomous learning and self-reflection,and to insure that students find effective ways to acquire new knowledge and skills.
