Amid the booming of global cultural industry,cultural trade is playing an increasingly significant role in world trade,and trade in cultural products is getting more and more attention from scholars.Along with the building of an upgraded version of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,bilateral trade volume has hit a new level.However,the share of trade in cultural products is still very small.Both China and ASEAN are seeking to promote cooperation in this field.Therefore,study on characteristics and influencing factors of China’s trade in cultural products with ASEAN can help to better understand current trade situation and provide some suggestions to boost future exchanges.Referring to relevant research documents available,this paper analyzed the conception,classification and statistical standards of cultural products.In addition,the paper illustrated current situations of trade in cultural products of China and ASEAN;summarized competitive advantages and trade modes of China’s trade in cultural products with ASEAN by TSC and GL index;and argued main factors influencing the trade through analyzing data from 1992 to 2014 by SPSS 16.0.The study showed that China’s trade in cultural products with ASEAN was very concentrated both in regional distribution and product structure;in terms of trade characteristics,China had comparative advantage in domain C(visual arts and crafts)and domain E(audio-visual and interactive media);domain B(performance and celebration)and D(books and press)belonged to intra-industry trade and domain C and E belonged to inter-industry trade.Concerning influencing factors,internet penetrate rate of ASEAN countries had a positive effect on the trade,and cultural distance negatively influenced the export but positively affected the import of China.Based on studies in the paper,suggestions to advance China’s trade in cultural products with ASEAN were concluded on China’s point of view.
