| In the context of globalization, cultural exchanges between countries continue to deepen, and trade in cultural products has gradually become a key area of international trade. The continuous strengthening of China’s trade in cultural products with countries around the world is of great significance in promoting China’s participation in international cultural cooperation and competition on a larger scale,in a wider field, and at a higher level. The entry into force of RCEP provides a rare historical opportunity for China to carry out trade in cultural products and improve its international competitiveness. This article takes the cultural products defined by UNCTAD as the research object, and RCEP as the carrier.Based on theoretical research,it analyzes the current situation of China’s cultural product trade with RCEP member countries, and further analyzes the influencing factors and existing problems of China’s cultural product import and export trade with RCEP member countries through empirical analysis. The findings of this study are as follows: First,China’s export of cultural products is mainly labor-intensive products with low added value, such as design products, and the trade market is concentrated in a few relatively developed countries such as Japan and South Korea. In general,China’s trade in cultural products has strong international competitiveness, with mainly inter industry trade and a vertical trade structure. From the perspective of classified products, new media, performing arts, and publishing products have strong international competitiveness and a high level of intra industry trade.Technological, design, and visual arts products have strong international competitiveness, but the level of intra industry trade is low.Visual and audio products have a high level of intra industry trade, but the international competitiveness is weak.Secondly, the sum of the two countries’ economic aggregates, institutional distance, technological development level, gap in the level of higher education between the two sides, foreign direct investment, and logistics performance have a promoting effect on the scale of trade in cultural products between China and RCEP member countries, while the gap in demand preferences, geographical distance, and cultural distance between the two sides have a blocking effect on trade. Finally, based on the current situation and empirical analysis, this article proposes suggestions to optimize industrial structure, enhance higher education level, and implement market diversification strategy,in order to promote cultural product trade between China and RCEP region and enhance the market position of cultural products in international trade. |
