The Relationship Between Authentic Pride/Pubristic Pride And Self-identity Among High School Students

High school students are adolescents,their development task is to establish a sense of identity and prevent the same confusion.Therefore,the development of ego identity in this period is related to the formation of the young people's physical and mental health and sound personality.As a positive self-conscious emotion,pride is also of great significance to the development of adolescents.Therefore,we conducted a study on the relationship between self-identity and pride,and discussed the relationship between them.A questionnaire survey was used in this research,567 high school students were investigated,using the traits scales of teenagers' pride and ego identity status questionnaire,the main result are follows:High school students are significantly more likely to feel authentic prid'e than hubristic pride.Girls in high school have a significant higher level in both authentic pride and hubristic pride than boys.The authentic pride level of grade three is significantly higher than that of grade one and grade two,and there is no significant difference between grade one and grade two.For the high school students,the distributions of identity statuses,whether in the ideological,interpersonal or total domain,are unbalanced.Most of adolescents are in the identity moratorium status,and identity diffusion,foreclosure and achievement in turn.There are significant gender differences in self identity development in some areas of high school students.There is a significant correlation between authentic pride and moratorium and achievement statuses.There is a significant correlation between hubristic pride and foreclosure status.
