A Study On The Pluralism Of Liu Dehai’s Pipa Tunings

The development of pipa tunings is the epitome of pipa art. From Dunhuang pipa music scores in Sui and Tang Dynasties to the inheritance and development of pipa tunings in recent times, Liu Dehai has made great technological breakthroughs and set his own banners in this area. In today’s domestic and foreign researches,literatures related with pipa tunings are mainly focused on the study in Sui and Tang Dynasties,while studies are rarely conducted in Liu Dehai’s innovation on pipa tunings.Taking pipa tunings as the starting point, this paper tries to explore the art of pipa tunings from the following three parts: the history of pipa tunings, Liu Dehai’s pipa tunings color and thoughts on pipa tunings. It mainly focuses on researching Liu Dehai’s pipa tunings color to analyze the technological attribution and aesthetic value of pipa art’s development and theoretically analyze the relationship between pipa’s performance skills and music emotion, so as to find the direction and path of pipa art’s development. Besides, this paper also uses and refers to many research methods to conduct multi-level and multi-angle analysis from different dimensions,including literature synthesis method, experience summarizing method, analysis of music forms and interdisciplinary research method which consists of national musicology,traditional music aesthetics and so on.
