| Bird worship has produced an important influence in the early civilization of China even around the Pacific Rim.Among the civilization of ancient time,Shu and Dongyi both have typical and distinctive bird worship cultures.They show a degree of commonality but there is also a huge difference between them.They reflect two different cultural connotation.On the basis of the historical documents and archaeological materials,this paper investigates the bird worship culture of the ancient Shu,analyzing its three stages including the origin,prosperity and evolvement firstly.Secondly,by comparing the bird worship of Shu with that of Dongyi,this paper explores their connections and difference to reveal the cultural connotations behind them.Taking ancient Shu as the starting point and foothold,this paper might be able to clarify the regional characteristics of bird worship of ancient Shu,and voice some new opinion on the issue of bird worship of Dongyi. |
