This is a project report on the translation ofCrisis Communication in a Digital Worldco-edited by Mark Sheehan and Deirdre Quinn-Allan,of which Part 3 “Corporate Crisis” is the source text.This part contains three chapters,the first two are chosen as the source text of this translation project.One is contributed by Hamish McLean and Maria Hopwood,the other one by Kiranjit Kaur.This part is mainly concerned about corporate crisis,exploring whatrole social media playin crisis communication and how individual and companies deal with a crisis in modern society.This report contains four parts.Part One,an introduction,includes the project background,objectives,significance and structure.Part Two is an introduction to the source text,including the background information,the author's introduction,main contents and the analysis of the source text.Part Three is about process of translation,including theoretical preparation,difficulties and solutions.HansJ.Vermeer's SkoposTheory was chosen as the theoretical guidance.The difficulties lie in the specialized theories and the searching of background information to understand the original text.The solutions include the translation skills of amplification and omission,combination and division,conversion and the using of four-character structures.Part Four concludes the lessons learned from the process and the unsolved problems in the translation project.
