Nihon Ryouiki is the first Buddhist talk set in Japan. The book is finished during early Pinan Dynasty which is the first transition period in Japanese society. As the first collision of indigenous sense and Buddhism, Nihon Ryouiki appears quite complicated and contradictory mentality. It was particularly evident in the alien marriage text.This article takes the alien marriage story as the center to explore the changes of social belief and faith. This article takes the belief and worship as the entrance and combines the disintegration and deformation of ancient Japanese clan community to explore the formation of religion in Pinan period.This paper discusses about three alien marriages of snake, fox, and stone. At first, it investigates the degradation of community God. Then it combines the intervention of Buddhism and Confucianism in this article to analyze the birth of new god and the rebirth of old god. Finally, through ritual transformation, it analyzes the sacrifice in old belief, which changes with the disintegration of the clan.
