This paper centers on the C-E translation of the public signs in the scenic spots in Fuzhou from the perspective of reception aesthetics. The theoretical frame work is reception aesthetics. In recent years, Fuzhou's tourism industry has grown in tandem with the economic development over the last several decades. The C-E translation of public signs in scenic spots has attracted great attention from many scholars. Based on reception aesthetics, translatorsshould holdthe idea that the tourists are not the passive role duringthe translation process but the center of translation work, and they should pay attention to the indeterminacy of the text and the horizon of expectation of the tourists. The paper proposed some strategies to deal with the translation of the public signs in scenic spots. They are:transplanting, grafting, pruning, nurturing and uprooting. Therefore, reception aesthetics, as a relatively new methodology, could be applied to shed some light on the C-E translation of public signs with a view to providing the reader of this paper with some feasible translation strategies for the improvement of C-E translation of public signs in Fuzhou.
