Translation Practice Report Of BBA’s Approval Inspection Testing Certification Of VMZINC

Architectural related texts and documents have become the common type of technical translation.Although categorized in science and technology,architectural and engineering texts have their own characteristics.They cover many fields with the features of practicality and strong purposes.Accurate and objective translations will greatly contribute to the understanding and implementation of the construction.The author intends to approach the translation practice of BBA’s Approval Inspection Testing Certification of VMZINC from the perspective of Newmark’s communicative translation theory.This report has four main parts.The introduction part mentions the background,meaning and guiding theory of this study.The second part mainly focuses on describing the translation process in which includes translation preparations,text analysis and quality control;the third part is the case study which analyzes the translation practice in terms of translation skills,including the translation of terminology,passive voice,long sentences,picture and chart as well as conjunction.The author points out the translation of picture and chart should follow the rules of accuracy,readability and artistic quality.The last part contains the summary and reflection on the entire process.
