Development of rural areas is an important strategy formulated by the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council.It is also a historical mission that requires long term perseverance.There is a vast number of ancient villages in China,dispersed over a wide area,each with its own circumstances and characteristics.New rural development offers opportunities for the preservation and development of these ancient villages,but it also means challenges.During the development process,there have been serious errors affecting the preservation of tangible culture and the legacy of intangible culture.There are tough tests confronting preservation and development of these villages.In the context of new rural development,this paper investigates the preservation and development of ancient villages and applies the theory of public goods to the theoretical analysis of the investigation.By taking Li Cha Village as a case,which is one of the first batch of ancient villages in Guangdong and one of the top ten beautiful ancient villages in Guangdong,this paper employs such methods as literature research,field research and case study to elaborate the distribution and characteristics of ancient villages in Guangdong,to investigate and analyze the parties,contents and methods involved in the preservation and development of ancient villages,the relationship between preservation and development,and the relationship between preservation of ancient villages and new rural development,and to delve into the practical exploration and enlightenments concerning the preservation and development of ancient Li Cha Village during new rural development.By investigating and analyzing the current situation and existing problems of the preservation of the ancient Li Cha Village,this paper goes deep into the causes and presents the corresponding approaches and countermeasures for preservation and development.This paper proposes to adhere to the strategy of sustainable preservation of ancient villages,and to shift the driving force from government dominance,policy support,financial assistance and scientific and technological support to the natural conditions,historical deposits,humanistic charm and cultural connotation of ancient villages themselves,thus enhancing their self-development and self-renewal abilities.At last,this paper comes to the following conclusions: strengthening the awareness of preserving ancient villages in all aspects is helpful to preserve ancient villages comprehensively;properly dealing with the relationship between preservation of ancient villages and new rural development contributes to sustainable development;preserving both tangible and intangible heritages is good for the preservation of tangible villages and the inheritance and development of intangible heritages;correctly distinguishing traditional folk custom from feudal superstition is conducive to deepening the spiritual civilization in ancient villages. |
