A Practice Report On Chinese-English Translation Of Business Interview Record

With the advent of the era of economic globalization,international trade growth,commercial activities are growing prosperous.Commercial activity is an important way to develop trade contacts and economic growth.As business interview is a crucial part of this activity,demand for Chinese-English translation of business interview record texts increases due to the rapid development of economy and growing frequency of foreign exchange.This report is based on the translation task from Translation Workshop of East China Normal University.In the work flow of translation,the writer was responsible for translation.This report summarizes the problems found in the process of proofreading.The paper introduces the translating process of business interview record and aims to summarize available translation strategies.The interview record is a text of conversation with communicative and commercial features.The target text specifies the referential meaning of deixis words.In the original text,there are many enterprise names and brands which can be dealt with by searching on the Internet.The writer mainly expresses the intention of vague words through various adaptations and selects effective information in responding to discourse habits of interlocutors.The thesis also proposes to respect the original translation style.By translating and proofreading,the author has acquired a deeper understanding of a translator’s responsibilities and improved the skills of translating business interview record.
