| The Comparative Sentences of this thesis are those that mean the comparison of two or more objects in terms of behavior, degree, traits and so on, which generally are formed by four parts: Comparative Subject, Comparative Marker, Comparative baseline and comparative result.The classification concept considers both the meaning and form.Combining the characteristics of comparative sentences in Wu Deng Hui Yuan, we have divided these comparative sentences into two kinds: Equal Comparison and Unequal Comparison.The thesis consists of three chapters, with the final conclusion at the end. The main contents are as follows:Chapter One is the introduction. This chapter introduces the value of Wu Deng Hui Yuan as the material for grammar study and its versions.We also describe the research status of related grammar, as well as the criteria, the purpose and the method of the study.Chapter Two has analyzed the Equal Comparison Sentences of Wu Deng Hui Yuan. Depending on comparative words, we have divided these sentences into six kinds:”yu”( 与)-sentence, ”ru”( 如)-sentence, ”si”( 似)-sentence, ”ruo”( 若)-sentence, ”yu”(于)-sentence and ”bi”(比)-sentence. Through the description and statistics, we have found that the comparative words "ru"(如),”si "(似) " and “yu”(与) are most frequently used. The Equal Comparison Sentence composed by them tends to have various sentence patterns with diverse structures as sentence elements. Among the Equal Comparison Sentences of Wu Deng Hui Yuan, some follow the pattern of ancient and medieval times, while some show new developments, such as some new phrases act as the comparison result of the sentence, and these Equal Comparison Sentences that comparison result appear at the last of the sentence are used more frequently.Chapter Three has analyzed the Unequal Comparison Sentences of Wu Deng Hui Yuan.Firstly,we have divided these sentences into“more than”(胜过)-sentence and“less than”(不及)-sentence according to the difference of meaning.Then we have analyzed and summarized every kind according to the characteristics and comparative words.We finally found that sentences with the adverb“zui”(最)showing the meaning“no one or nothing else can compete with”,and sentences with verb phrase“bu ru”(不如)”bu ruo”(不若)showing unequal comparison are most frequently used.Comparative results are usually omitted for the unequal comparative meaning contained in the comparative words.Adverbs appear rarely.Besides that the negative and interrogative pattern are rarely used.Concluding remarks have summarized the core content of this article, also pointed out its defects to help us make deep study in future. |
