The adolescent problem is such a problem that attracts people‘s widespread attention, especially the groups having close relation with the youth, such as parents and teachers. If the way to solve the problem is not suitable for young people, it is easy to cause their mental illness, or lead to juvenile delinquency. The book, The 3 Keys of Effective Communication with Teens, starts from the writer himself to make a good guidance patiently. Through the writer‘s own experience and years of research, the book provides the teens‘ parents, teachers and managers with effective methods to guide the development of adolescent mental health. Therefore, the book is chosen as the translation task. The translation task has reference function and belongs to argumentative prose, which has special stylistic features. Nord‘s text analysis model and related translation strategies contribute to solving many translation problems encountered in the process of translation and providing translation of high quality. To accurately grasp the purposes of translation and communication, the translator needs a detailed text analysis to the source language. The text analysis model proposed by Nord aims at analyzing various related factors in the text and providing the basis for translation teaching, translation evaluation and translation strategies. The model helps the translator comprehend the special function of source language, and select the appropriate translation strategies according to the translation purpose. The report begins with a comprehensive analysis of the extratextual and intratextual factors of the source text. According to text analysis and text function, Nord divides the translation strategies into two kinds: Documentary Translation and Instrumental Translation. Documentary Translation mainly consists of word-to-word translation, literal translation, philological translation and exoticizing translation. For example, for the unique characters of American culture, the translator can use philological translation and add a note to help Chinese readers understand the writer‘s intention. Equi-functional translation, hetero-functional translation, homologous translation make up Instrumental Translation. For example, when the writer quotes Maslow‘s demand theory in the original work, the translator can directly use general saying in Chinese instead of translating into another form based on equi-functional translation. The conclusion part summarizes the gains and reflections in the process of translation, points out the shortcomings in the translation and offers some suggestions to the future translation practice.
