| As one of the four major processes of teaching, textbooks are the foundation for a foreign language teacher’s preparation, and also, they are the basic tools for student studies. Thus, whether the textbook compilation is scientific and reasonable or has played a great role in the process of our teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Complex sentences belong to the category of discourse teaching. In the process of our practical teaching Chinese as a foreign language, we find that many students can read words, and they also can make sentences which fit into certain grammatical roles, however, they always can’t put the simple sentences together to form a complex sentence, not to mention to turn the segment of sentences into whole article.Being the first-hand learning material, the quality of textbook writing draw direct influences on students’ learning effect. The discussion and the research results on the quality and practicability of the teaching material writing has became especially important.This article through the comparison on the types and level of complex sentences, and on their recurrence rate and other aspects of complex sentences in the revision and the second edition of A Course Book of Chinese Developing Chinese(Elementary), this thesis investigate the similarities and differences of two sets of textbooks on the progress of complication of complex sentences, it intends to probe into the unreasonable aspects of compilation, and offer some suggestion for later textbook compilation works on Chinese as a foreign language.Through the comparison on the types and level of complex sentences, and on their recurrence rate and other aspects of complex sentences in the revision and the second edition of A Course Book of Chinese Developing Chinese(Elementary), this thesis investigate the similarities and differences of two sets of textbooks on the progress of complication of complex sentences, it intends to probe into the unreasonable aspects of compilation, and offer some suggestion for later textbook compilation works on Chinese as a foreign language. The second part mainly take the grammar class outline as reference, it compares the level of complex sentences in the Course Book of Chinese and Developing Chinese(Elementary), and probing into the the super classes, super grade, super sequence and omission phenomenon in teaching materials, and then it compares two sets of teaching materials’ scientific and reasonable attributes on the compilation of complex sentences and the arrangements of their difficulty level. The third part, mainly compares the correlative repetition rate of complex sentences in the Course Book of Chinese and Developing Chinese(Elementary) according to the memory curve and memory theory research results, it intends to explore the deficiencies on the compilation and the retrieval of complex sentences in these two sets of textbooks.To sum up, by comparing the types of complex sentences in these two sets of authoritative teaching materials, this thesis summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the two, and intend to provide some suggestion for future textbook compilation, and let more foreigners like to learn Chinese. |
