Practice Report On The Interpretation Of Launching Ceremony Of Baishishan China-US S&T Innovation Park

This practice report of interpretation is based on a foreign affair activity. In April of 2014, worked as an interpreter, I provided support to the Foreign Affairs Office of Baoding to prepare for the whole. Key tasks of the interpreter include accompanying interpretation for welcome luncheon, scenic spot visiting and consecutive interpretation for Launching Ceremony of International Technology Transfer Conference(Baoding) Session China-US Science and Technology Innovation Park.The interpreter is mainly responsible for Chinese-English consecutive interpreting, based on which, the report is composed of five chapters. Chapter one is Task Description, which includes origin of the task, task requirements and task achievements. Chapter two is the description of the interpreting process which briefly introduces three stages: pre-interpretation, interpreting and post-interpretation. Chapter three brings about the preparation work from three aspects which are background and vocabulary accumulation, conference site inspection and other preparations. Chapter four focuses on cases analysis, which is also the key chapter of this practice report. By analyzing interpreting cases and sharing interpreting difficulties, the interpreter came to an conclusion that good interpretation job was a combination of theories and practice. The last chapter is summary and conclusion, which not only tells experience and lessons the interpreter has got from the interpreting task, but also shows several opinions of being a professional interpreter from the interpreter's aspect.After finishing and rethinking about the conference interpreting task, the interpreter realized that one should be more flexible both in language and interpretation skills while starting on an interpretation task, which knowing that will be helpful to complete interpretation tasks, especially when things come to intercultural communication levels.
