In the year 1206, Genghis Khan established the great Mongol. It symbolized the unification of the northern grasslands of Mongolia. At the beginning of 13 th century, the tripartite confrontation has formed among the great Mongol, the Jin dynasty, and Xixia in North China. The Jin Dynasty and Xixia were eventually conquered by the Mongolian cavalries after being involved in wars with the great Mongolia for more than twenty years. In order to study their relationships better, I systematically sorted out and explained the wars between the great Mongolia and the other two countries by specifically exploring and analyzing related war processes in this thesis. Besides, analyzing the relationships of the great Mongolia with the Jin Dynasty, and Xixia comparatively, I also took the negotiated peaceful treaties signed during the wars as additional analysis for understanding their relationships.Objectively, it is the great Mongolia's invasions that lead to the demise of the Jin Dynasty and Xixia. They, both the Jin Dynasty and the Xixia, had complicated relationships with the great Mongolia. There were some similarities and differences when compared with their relationships with the great Mongolia. On the whole, the Mongolian army dominated the strategic initiative with repetition during the wars with the other two empires. You can see the similarities from the marriage-for-peace policy, adopted by the great Mongolia to the Jin Dynasty and the Xixia, and the differences between the wars' purposes from the reasons why the first war started andfrom the difference in attitudes in the negotiated peace between the great Mongolia and the other two entities. The thesis also studies the following points: different subordinate status, difficulties handled by the armies, and attitudes adopted by two sides' Emperors during the wars with the great Mongolia.
