A Study On The Great Wall Of Han Dynasty In Alashan Area Of Inner Mongolia

In the period of Han Dynasty,the Great Wall was built because the Huns(Xiongnu),relying on their own military advantages,continued to invade the northern territory of the Han Dynasty,causing great trouble to the Han Dynasty.The site of the Great Wall of the Han Dynasty changed with the expansion of its territory.Now,the Alashan league of Inner Mongolia is an important defense zone in the northwest of Han Dynasty,and a large number of historical remains of the Great Wall of Han Dynasty have been found in the area.At present,this paper will study the reasons,evolution,Composition and influence of the Han Great Wall in Alashan League according to the literature,field investigation and unearthed bamboo slips.First of all,this part will relate and analyze the historical background of the Great-Wall-defense-system in Han Dynasty in the Alashan area of Inner Mongolia.The construction of the Great Wall was closely related to the changes of han-hungarian war and the struggle of Han and Huns(Xiongnu)for the western regions.Supported by its powerful military force,the Western Han Dynasty controlled the Gansu Corridor,subdued the western regions,and built the Great Wall in northwest territories.During the Eastern Han Dynasty,with the Huns(Xiongnu)moved into of the Grate Wall,the Han government also built the Great Wall in some areas.Secondly,this part will discuss the construction evolution of the Han Great Wall in Alashan,Inner Mongolia Alashan area is surrounded by mountains.In the Han Dynasty,the terrain was used to establish the defense system and became the frontier defense area in the northwest of the Han Dynasty.In the Western Han Dynasty,the construction of the Great Wall defense facilities began in Alxa area.In the Eastern Han Dynasty,some sections were abandoned and the new Great-Wall-defense-system was built.Thirdly,this part will make a concrete analysis of the composition and characteristics of the Great Wall of Han Dynasty.The great wall of Han Dynasty in Alxa area is composed of walls(trenches),beacon towers,Tiantian,ancient citys,fortifications,etc.These fortification are built on mountains and rivers,Beacon tower is the main component of the Great Wall in this area.The defensive function of these fortification determines how far these fortification are from the wall.Finally,Probe into the influence of the Great Wall of Han Dynasty in Alashan area of Inner Mongolia.The main purpose of the construction of the Great Wall in Alashan area was to prevent the Huns(Xiongnus)from invading the northwest border of Han Dynasty.In order to strengthen the border defense,Han Dynasty took measures such as emigration and tuntian.A series of measures to consolidate the border defense of the Han Dynasty protected the development of agriculture and Commerce in Northwest territories,and promoted the ethnic integration and cultural exchange in the Great Wall area.
