With the full support of China and Thailand governments, learning Chinese is popular in primary schools, middle schools, high schools, universities and training institutes in Thailand. People from all walks of life attach great importance to Chinese learning in Thailand and Chinese volunteer teachers were born at this particular time. Because of the differences of geography, culture and language between the two countries, many of the Chinese volunteer teachers, especially unexperienced teachers can’t do as well as they expect. The writer staying in the vocational school for one year in Thailand discovered that classroom management problems for the novice teachers were more serious than other problems, which affected the teaching process. So it’s essential to study the Chinese classroom management of novice teachers in Thailand.The focus of this paper is classroom management. By analyzing the research results of classroom observation, questionnaire surveys and teachers’ diaries, the writer found that novice teachers made mistakes in managing the students’ disruptive behaviors, classroom environment, classroom atmosphere and execution of classroom rules at Thailand vocational schools, which led to the occurrence of classroom management problems. Thus, the writer, through analyzing and reconsidering the above problems and causes, put forwards some suggestions based on literature research of classroom management and practical experience, hoping that it will help the Chinese novice teachers to solve the classroom management problems. |
