A Project Report On The C-E Translation Of The Small And Medium-sized Technology-based Company Profiles

With the booming of our technological power and the accelerated globalization, increasing numbers of small and medium-sized technology-based companies are eager to exploit international markets, take part in the international competition as well as seek more opportunities for cooperation. In order to facilitate the exchanges and cooperation with the outside world, Chinese-English company profiles have been widely used to set up a good and healthy company image, publicize products or services and expand markets. Since the quality of company profiles will place direct influence on the external publicity of companies, the translation of company profiles has gradually become a new research subject. Although numerous scholars have conducted researches on the C-E translation of company profiles and offered valuable insights into such translation, there are still some limitations. So the research on the C-E translation of small and medium-sized technology-based company profiles is still a meaningful and worthy subject.It is a great honor for the author to participate in the C-E translation project of small and medium-sized technology-based companies. The project involves interdisciplinary research of many disciplines such as marketing psychology and translation.The integration of cross-cultural communication, translation and linguistics, in particular, is of strong practical guiding significance. Based on the translation practice, this report discusses major issues and difficulties from the information, sentential, and discourse levels, analyzes the reasons and provides corresponding solutions. Also, the author summarizes the differences between Chinese and English company profiles and the rules of translating small and medium-sized technology-based company profiles, hoping that this report will be of referential value for domestic studies on the translation of small and medium-sized technology-based company profiles.
