The book of Jin Si Lu was completed by ZHU Xi and LV Zuqian in the Southern Song Dynasty.It was the combination of Neo-Confucianism's theory that elucidated by ZHOU Dunyi ? ZHANG Zai ? CHENG Yi and CHENG Hao.It defined the program of new Confucianism and was the elemental work for beginners to study the Neo-Confucianism.The influence of this book was so great that a lot of continuations which contained other scholars' quotations appeared in Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties.One kind of these continuations was the collection of ZHU Xi's quotations.This academic phenomenon also appeared in the early Qing Dynasty,and the Zhu Zi Wen Yu Zuan Bian written by YAN Hongkui was the typical representative.This book had about 460,000 words and fully elaborated the primary coverage of ZHU Xi's theory.The Book One introduced the natural laws of the universe,The other 13 volumes discussed ancient Chinese scholars' traditional way of learning and manage state affairs,heterodox theories criticism and an overview of the the highest level of the sages.This book had plenty of ZHU Xi's quotations and comprehensive contents,focused on "Knowledge Acquisition" and reflected the author's racist ideas.The author chose those quotations which can mostly reflect ZHU Xi's thoughts from Wen Ji and Yu Lei.The ways of choosing quotations were extracting the whole paragraph or extracting a part of it;changing the words;connecting multiple statements;interlinking the sentences that chose from several passages.This book can satisfy the scholars' demand of studying ZHU Xi's theory.This books classified ZHU Xi's quotations based on Jin Si Lu's fourteen volume style and ZHU Xi's Neo-Confucianism was more profound in this book.It not only made up for the shortcomings that the Jin Si Lu lacked of ZHU Xi's works and developed ZHU Xi's theories,but also combines Si Zi's theories and ZHU Xi's theories together to a more complete and meticulous Neo-Confucianism's system.The book was the product of the political and cultural atmosphere in early Qing Dynasty.it had a special place in the continuation of Jin Si Lu that collected ZHU Xi's quotations at that time.Except the version which inscribed and printed in 1720 was included by Si Ku Quan Shu Cun Mu Cong Shu,there were still five diferent versions and four of them were spread in Japan.This paper tried to make a research on the editor?style?content?characteristics?value?version and dissemination of this book,and then discuss its contribution in the dissemination history of ZHU Xi's theory.
