| Objective The purpose of this study was to understand the current status of couples’ marital quality, to explore the effect of the demographic variables such as the gender, age, life background and many more on marital quality and vocational interest types, focus on discussing the relationship between vocational interest types and marital quality, and to analyze the effects of the vocational interest types on marital quality.Methods Used the Marriage perception Scale(MPS) and Vocational Interest Assessment Scale(VIAS) to collected 768(ie, 384 pairs) valid data of married couples in Henan and other provinces, used the Epidata3.1 for data input and management, used the SPSS21.0 for valid data statistics analysis.Results(1)The differences test of couples’ MPS score in gender, age, life background and other demographic variables showed that there was a significant difference in marital conflict factor(p<0.05, p<0.01); there were significantly differences of couple interaction in different age groups and different educational groups(p<0.05, p<0.01).(2)The differences test of couples’ every vocational interest type score in gender, age, life background and other demographic variables showed that there were significant differences in every vocational interest type score(p<0.05, p<0.01); the differences in some dimensions of vocational interest(such as abstract technical, artistic type, adventurous type, etc.) of subjects in different ages were significantly(p<0.05, p<0.01); there were significantly differences in each dimension of vocational interest(eg literary type, exciting adventures type, abstract technical type, etc.) of subjects in different degree(p<0.05, p<0.01); and the differences in some dimensions of vocational interest(such as artistic type, adventurous type, abstract technical type, etc.) of subjects in different life backgrounds and different occupational groups were significantly(p<0.05, p<0.01).(3)There existed the relevant resistance between marital quality and vocational interest(such as abstract technical, literary type, altruistic dedication type, etc.), and the correlation was significant(p<0.05, p<0.01).(4) There was a significant difference in marital quality between consistent and inconsistent group of couples’ some dimensions of vocational interest(such as abstract technical, scientific type)(p<0.05).(5) Gender, age, education, life background, occupation and vocational interests worked together to predict 15.2% of the variance of the marital quality(R=0.390, R2=0.152), and Bachelor degree or above, degree of interest and competence in altruistic dedication type, degree of interest in conventional transaction type, degree of competence in adventurous type and enterprise management type and other variables can predict the marital quality.Conclusion(1)The feeling of marital conflict was different of both husband and wife, and the wife felt more conflict than her husband; the feeling of couple interaction was different in differ age groups, lower age group interactive rich; the interaction between the couples in different educational groups was different, highly educated group of couples felt more interactive.(2)The level of interest and competence level were different of husband and wife in all types of vocational interests, compared to the wife, the level of interest and competence level of husband was stronger in abstract technical, adventurous type, business type, etc; the higher interest level and stronger competence of lower age group in the abstract technical, adventurous type and other aspects; highly educated group have more keen interest and strong competence of the professional interest.(3)Marital quality correlated with abstract technical, literary type, altruistic dedication type and other vocational interest types.(4)The couples consistent with or not in terms of abstract technical type and scientific type can contribute to the quality of marriage.(5)The altruistic dedication type, routine transaction type, adventurous type, and business type could predict the marital quality. |
