A Report On The Translation Of The Work Summary Of Linyi Foreign Technology And Management Talents Introduction

The original text of this translation project is provided by Linyi Foreign Experts Affairs Bureau. It is entitled The Work Summary of Linyi Foreign Technology and Talents Introduction. With communicative theory as the guidance, this thesis aims to study the principles and methods to deal with the translation of informative texts. After studying the writing characteristics of the original text, we tried to translate the text under the guidance of the communicative translation theory, and then summarized the principles and strategies in translating this type of text. This thesis falls into four parts, namely, task description, process description, case analysis and conclusion.This report made an in-depth analysis of the original text from two aspects, vocabulary and sentence structure, including the translation of technical terms, slogans containing numbers, antithesis sentences, long and complicated sentences. It summarized a few corresponding translation strategies in translating this informative text, such as literal translation with annotation, amplification, restructuring integration and change of voices in an attempt to conform to the expression habits of the target language and to maximize the communicative purpose of the original text. In addition, the author wishes to make a little positive contribution to the long-term cooperation between Foreign Experts Organization and Linyi Foreign Experts Affairs Bureau.
