The Research And Assembly Of The Different Versions Of Shangshu·Shangshu

Shangshu is one of the ancient Chinese most important historic books.On the one hand,the book was written a long time ago.On the other hand,there existed some mistakes during its copies and rewriting.In addition,some malicious tampering by others may happen.Some other difficulties are existed in the research because of its writing style with long and hard expressions and its inversion,which is not easy to understand.Among the difficulties we may face during our research,the major one we should solve is the change of context like its words with similar meanings,changeable words and the wrong words.In this thesis,the author makes a comprehensive comparison between several versions,copies and public documents(including the slips recently published in Tsinghua University)of Shangshu·Shangshu,including Shangshi,Pangeng,Gaozongrongri,Xibokanli and Weizi.The different versions are demonstrated by a chart.The origin of different versions and the meanings of key words and expressions are researched through the comprehensive analysis on the chart.The research are written under the guidance of the newest research results of oracle-bone inscriptions and inscriptions on ancient bronze objects.The thesis consists of four chapters.A comprehensive overview of the different versions of Shangshu·Shangshu including its origins,categories and effects are demonstrated in the first chapter.In the second chapter,after a comprehensive comparison between different versions,the chart of different versions of Shangshu are showed based on An Explanation and Translation of Shangshu written by Gu Jiegang and Liu Qiyu and framed by Editions of Shangshu written by Gu Jiegang and Gu Yanlong.Some words are embodied in the form of footnotes for a research of the change of the words.Different versions can be seen obviously.In the third chapter,some words are specially researched according to their meanings embodied in the chart of different versions.The research mainly focuses on the change of the characters and the analysis on the differences by ancestors.By comparing the details,on the basis of my own meanings to solve the related problems if necessary.In the fourth chapter,the final version of Shangshu is made according to the chart and the research of different versions,which can be a reference for the related scholars.
