Since Shangshu Wei was compiled according to Shangshu, they are supposed to have aclose relation. Most Weishu were compiled in a time when Confucian classics was interpreted.Thus what was in Shangshu is explained or far-fetched in Shangshu Wei. In particular,horoscopes set down in Shangshu are interpreted from the perspective of Shangshu Wei’sphilosophy, which bases the admiration of the horoscopes on the belief of destiny. The"telepathy between Heaven and Man " let it believed that natural phenomena well predicthuman behaviors. The sun and the moon is described as Yin and Yang; respect and disrespectis decided by the sun and the moon; the four seasons are divided by the differences betweenthe earth and the sun; the five directions derived from the seasons; the5planets come fromthe5directions and the orbit of them foresees the politics. This is how Chenwei foreseesdeaths, disasters and politics according to horoscopes, and, in time, is applied to thepersuasion and warning of the power as well as the alternation. Although Shangshu Wei hasrather close relationship with modern Confucian classics, there is no clear cut betweenShangshu Wei and the ancient Confucian classics. This paper elaborates on the relationshipbetween Shangshu Wei and Confucian classics from the perspective of the development andtendency of the theory.
