At an early stage of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, because of the limited level of foreign students, the cultural contents in the comprehensive course are basically presented by some cultural factors in the language materials. These “cultural factors” has become one of the key factors in whether students use the target language for normal communication. If these cultural factors handled badly, it can cause the communication barriers. Therefore, how to teach c ultural factors to the elementary foreign students is very worthy in our study.This teaching des ign reference the Cui Yonghua’s foreign language teaching design theory. Discussed the basic requirements of teaching design of cultural factors in the “HANYU JIAOCHENG”(Revised)in terms of textbook、teaching contents、teaching objectives、teaching focus and difficulties、teaching princ iples、teaching methods. Then according to the theory of curriculum design, designing the two cultural factors “Spring Festival” and “courtyard” in the “Drove up an empty car”. In the teaching process based on given lessons by teachers. In order to avoid the monotony of teaching knowledge, this teaching design increases activities in the class, so that foreign students can experience Chinese cultural in the active atmosphere.Main thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is mainly discusses the significance of teaching Chinese culture. The second part illustrates the basic requirements of cultural factors instructional design of “HANYU JIAOCHENG”(Revised). The third part is a specific teaching design of Chinese cultural factors in a lesson“Drove up an empty car”. Reflections on teaching Chinese as a foreign cultural factors and teaching suggestions for reflection raised.
