Translation Practice Report On Tianjin University News Center

In recent years, with the frequent international exchanges and the development of Internet, domestic universities are building their own English website to expand their reputation and influence across the world. As the window of universities’ image, the quality of university translation is extremely important, which has drawn the attention of translation scholars, however, the existing research is not deep enough.On the basis of previous studies, centering on eco-translatology of Professor Hu Gengshen, the author adopted the method of literature research to make her own opinion on it. In analyzing examples, the author aims to deepen the understanding of eco-translatology and improve the translation quality of universities’ English website.After theoretical study and cases analysis, the following conclusions have been drawn: 1. During translation, the translator should make adaptive transformation from the three dimensions including linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension so that the characteristics of the original text can be better maintained and the target text can be more idiomatic and easier to understand. 2. To achieve the goal, specific translation methods have been applied. 3. The adaptive transformation of the three dimensions can significantly improve the quality of Chinese news translation.The study results have a certain theoretical and practical value, which are useful for the application of eco-translatology and the improvement of Chinese news translation quality.
