With the acceleration of globalization and improvement of the Internet technology, Computer Aided Translation(CAT) starts to be accepted by more and more translators and scholars. But now most CAT is applied in the translation of technical texts, while its application in non-technical texts is scarce. In order to study the application of CAT in literary translation, this report offers a new term, namely Computer Aided Literary Translation, combining with the real translation project—Young Sherlock Holmes: Stone Cold. Young Sherlock Holmes is a detective series for youngsters, and Stone Cold is the seventh volume. It is a typical literary work. In the process of using memoQ in translating Young Sherlock Holmes, the translator is confronted with problems like rigidness, inaccuracy, lack of idiomatic Chinese, and lack of language vividness in describing certain scenes in the novel.Through the analysis of these problems, it is found that these problems are not caused by CAT; rather, they are caused by incomplete comprehension to the original text and improper use of memoQ, the CAT tool in this case. As long as you work correspondingly and effectively, it is feasible to realize Computer Aided Literary Translation. The author puts forward solutions to these problems from the aspects of pre-translation, translation and post-translation stages. In the process of pre-translation stage, we should have a general understanding of the original text and pre-process the text by extracting high frequency words. In the process of translation stage, we should make full use of all the functions of memoQ to promote efficiency in translation. In the process of post-translation stage, we should carry out automatic quality control, self-revision and do the proofreading to the translation version in sequence. Through those solutions the translator can efficiently apply CAT and improve the quality of literary translation.
