A Translation Project Report Of Grand Challenges Of Our Aging Society

The report is a translation report, based on the booklet Grand Challenges of Our Aging Society published by the National Academies Press. Aiming at helping governments and other non-government organizations understand the influence of population aging, this booklet proposes several methods for solving such problems. Chapter 3 is about how to enhance healthy aging; chapter 4 is about the macroeconomic and financial impacts, chapter 5 focuses on income security and health care financing programs.This report consists of five parts: The first part is introduction, including background, significance and structure of the report; the second part is about the introduction of the author and the source text; the third part deals with the translation difficulties, including difficulties in understanding and expressing; the fourth part is translation theories and methods, which includes Reiss' s typology, transliteration, literal translation, division, translation in reverse order and conversion in voice; the last part is the experience in translating and problems unsolved.
