This is a research report for the translation project of Using Computers in the Translation of Literary Style: Challenges and Opportunities published by Routledge Publishing,UK in 2020.Text features and translation strategies used in this practice are discussed. This work is a scholarly monograph, including corpus linguistics, corpusbased translation studies, stylistics, narratology and other disciplines. The work mainly discusses the application of computers in literary translation. This work is of guiding significance for current translation research, especially for literary translation. The book is highly academic, which is embodied in the use of professional terms, the logical expression of long sentences, passive voice and discourse cohesion and coherence. In view of the characteristics of scholarly monographs and the differences between English and Chinese languages,in order to make the translation conform to academic norms and convey academic viewpoints both clearly and consistently for readers to refer to,the author applies Hans Vermeer’s three basic rules related to Skopos theory, namely skopos rule, coherence rule and fidelity rule.Taking this book as the translation text, the author conducts case analysis from three levels of words, sentences, and contexts in the report, aiming to explore and analyze the translation methods used in terminology, polysemy, restrictive attributive clause, passive voice and discourse cohesion and coherence,so as to provide reference for related translation work.
