Practice Report On Translation Of Defense And National Security Budget In CBO

With the economic globalization going deep into all countries in the world, there are a growing number of communication and cooperation between country and country in various fields such as politics, economy, culture and education, science and technology, tourism and medical treatment. Translation acts as a bridge of communication between people of different nationalities, it makes interpreters become an indispensable role in the international exchange. This thesis is an article on English text translation of practice report, the author will select the text translation of Defense and National Security Budget in CBO as the translation task that would be described in the article, aimed at by analyzing the preparation of the translation and the problems which faced in the translation process of national important file, in order to discuss translation strategies and translation ways about how to take translation more accurately. To seek to provide the theory reference value for China defense and national security budget, while improving my awareness about English translation and improving my practice capacity.In the first part of this thesis, the author made a simple introduction about the selected translation task, which contains profile on CBO’s official website, as well as taking a description about the task client’s requirements and the nature of delegated tasks, in order to make readers understand of the translator’s task.Then, in the next chapter of the article, the author reviewed the process of the translation. The process can be divided into three stages to describe: translation of texts and terminology preparation; translation staff and task assignment phase during the translation; review and feedback phase after the translation, and every job in the translation process is described in detail.Chapter three acts as a core part in the full text, it mainly describes the question that the author facing in this translation practice as well as strategies to deal with these problems. This thesis summarizes three types of common errors in the translation process- lexical mistranslation, long sentence structure analysis improperly and understanding of context biases, and combined with the specific case to put forward the solution and strategy of these problems. The fourth chapter, as the conclusion of the thesis, it is tip and idea of the author after the translation practice. At first, it explains the significance of translation theory in practice, and then take the reflection on the practice from the translation preparation and revision aspect.After this practice on text translation of Defense and National Security Budget, the author further improved translation ability of English, and in the process of finding related documents and national security terms, the author gained more knowledge and accumulated experience for future translation work.
