Objective: Objective to investigate the correlation between neuron specific enolase(NSE)and diabetic Pripheral neuropathy(DPN).At the same time, the value of serum NSE cutting point in the diagnosis of DPN was discussed. Methods:Patients with type 2 diabetes were selected randomly from November 2016 to November 2017 in Department of Endocrinology, affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University.185 cases were selected according to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, including 64 females and 121 males. All the selected patients were examined by blood routine, biochemical examination,NSE and peripheral neuropathy. The selected persons were divided into DPN group and T2 DM group according to the availability or absence of DPN.The SPSS20.0 software is used to process the data.Results:1.The serum NSE level in DPN group(17.02 ±3.05)was higher than that in T2 DM group(13.39 ±2.06)(P < 0.05).2.The increase of serum NSE level and the course of diabetes were independent risk factors for the occurrence of DPN(P < 0.05),The OR value of serum NSE was 1.958(1.448~2.647),The OR value of course of diabetes was 1.181(1.043~1.338),The OR value of Hb A1 c was 2.382(1.491~3.803).3.After the ROC curve is made, the area under the ROC curve is 0.833(95%CI:0.776-0.890).Conclusion:1.The level of serum NSE in patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy was significantly higher than that in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.2.The level of serum NSE、Hb A1 c and the course of diabetes may be independent risk factors for the occurrence of DPN.3.The serum NSE level is valuable for the diagnosis of DPN.
