| Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of sublingual allergen immunotherapy with standardized D.farinae drops in the treatment of allergic rhinitis in Zunyi City. Methods: 321 patients who were suffered from allergic rhinitis and were allergic to dust mites and positive to SPT(Skin prick test)were enrolled in Zunyi Medical College Affiliated Hospital from December 2016 to February 2018.Before and after sublingual allergen immunotherapy with standardized D.farinae drops, symptom scores were evaluated.According to different treatment options, patients were divided into two group, group A(under 14 years old)and group B(14 years old and above).Group A was divided into two groups according to school age(the preschool age is under 6 years old and the post-school age is 6 years old and above).Group B was divided into two groups, the juveniles(under 18 years old)and adults(aged 18 years and above). The total scores of symptoms and the differences between pre-treatment and post-treatment were calculated.T-test was performed on the differences between the scores of two groups in different age groups before and after the treatment. The chi-square test was applied to test the remission rate of different groups in different symptoms to compare whether the symptoms before and after treatment were relieved. Finally,to calculate the rate of symptom relief of patients with a regular treatment for 4 months and above in differrent phases. Results: 237 patients were included according to the inclusion exclusion criteria,204 Of the 237 patients were relieved of symptoms, with a remission rate of 86.08%.In group A,there were 150 patients. After 2 months of treatment, differences in total rhinitis symptom scores of preschool and post-school age patients respectively were-3.13±3.334 and-3.57±2.626,significant differences were detected between groups and within group comparisons based on the differences in total rhinitis symptom scores(P<0.01).There was a statistical difference between preschool and post-school age children, and the overall symptom improvement of post-school age children was better than that of preschool age children. For the symptom of nasal mucus, the remission rates of preschoolchildren and post-school children were 39.13% and 67.72%,significant differences were detected between groups within group comparisons based on the rate of symptom relief(P< 0.05),the remission rate of children in different age had statistical difference after treatment, and the remission rate of post-school children was significantly higher than that of preschool children. In group B,there were 87 patients. After 2 months of treatment, differences in total rhinitis symptom scores of juvenile and adult patients respectively were-2.66 ±2.474 and-3.90 ±2.785,significant differences were detected between groups and within group comparisons based on the differences in total rhinitis symptom scores(P<0.01).There was a statistical difference between juveniles and adults, and the overall symptom improvement of adults was better than that of juveniles. For the symptom of nasal itching, remission rates of juveniles and adults were 34.21% and 65.31%,significant differences were detected between groups within group comparisons based on the rate of symptom relief(P<0.05),the remission rates of patients of different ages have statistical difference after treatment, and the remission rate of the adult group is obviously higher than that of the juvenile group. At last, there were 77 patients with regular treatment for 4 months and above.After3.10±1.119 months of SLIT,the overall symptoms relief rate of 64 patients were83.12%.After 6.39±1.800 months of SLIT,the overall symptoms relief rate of 66 patients were 85.71%.Conclusion: SLIT with standardized D.farinae drops achieved significant symptom relief on allergic rhinitis in Zunyi City. The overall symptom relief of post-school age patients was higher than that of preschool age patients, the age was associated with the symptom relief, the older, the better. The overall symptom relief of adulthood was higher than that of juvenile, age was associated with the symptom relief, the older, the better.Age was associated with the remission rate of nasal mucus in patients under 14 years old and the remission rate of nasal itching symptoms in patients of 14 years old and above, the older, the higher. The effective rate of SLIT after three months was 83.12%.The effective rate of SLIT after six months was 83.12%.The maintenance treatment had a continuousimprovement on the symptoms of patients with allergic rhinitis.Age was positively correlated with efficacy of SLIT. |
