Analysis Of The Demands And Influencing Factors Of Peer Support In Patients With Breast Cancer Accepting Chemotherapy

Objective:In this study,we investigated the breast cancer with chemotherapy in 4 hospitals in Shanghai to explore the peer support needs of breast cancer patients with chemotherapy and the influencing factors.To provide more targeted peer intervention for breast cancer with chemotherapy,increase peer support participation of breast cancer with chemotherapy,and reduce the negative impact of breast cancer on patients.Methods:1.Literature review:The collected data were analyzed as a source of scale entries by searching relevant literature for the establishment of breast cancer and companion support in 2017.2.Group discussion:The team discusses and reviews the preliminary pool of alternative entries.It modifies the statement’s ambiguity,improper semantics,and inappropriate entries.3.Qualitative research method: Using convenient sampling method,10 breast cancer with chemotherapy patients for semi-structure in-depth interviews.Questioning the research subjects during the qualitative interview and let they express their own views on the research questions.After the interview,the participants’ opinions and perspectives are collected and recorded.4.Delphi method: On the basis of preparing the initial questionnaire,using convenient sampling method select 15 breast cancer experts from Shanghai,Jiangxi,Sichuan for 2 rounds of expert advice,and analysis the composition of experts,the authoritative coefficient and positive coefficient.On the basis of the opinions given by experts,the contents of the questionnaire will be modified or deleted,to improve the reliability and validity of the questionnaire.5.Questionnaire reliability and validity test: 216 patients from four hospitals in Shanghai were surveyed using an initial scale.Content validity,exploratory factor analysis,internal consistency,and test-retest reliability analysis were performed on the scale.6.Questionnaire method: Using convenient sampling method in the time period from May to July 2017,216 breast cancer patients who accepting chemotherapy in 4 hospitals in Shanghai were surveyed.A total of 216 questionnaires were distributed,recycling valid 212 questionnaires,the effective response rate is 98.15%.7.Statistical method: Socio-demographic data,disease-related information on the mean and standard deviation,frequency and rate of statistical description.Using SPSS 20.0 software to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire data and description and analysis of the questionnaire data.Results:1.Literature review and group discussion: After comprehensive domestic and international literature and group discussions,the questionnaire initially consists of 3 dimensions and 23 items.The dimensions are the form of peer support(6 items),information needs(10 items),and emotional needs.(7 entries).2.Qualitative research method:Interviewed breast cancer patients with chemotherapy awareness of peer support,including the definition of peer support the form of a theme,the need for peer support can be summarized in the form of peer support,peer information support and emotional needs of peers 3 topics.3.Expert consultation results:Expert positive coefficient of 100%,the expert authority coefficient of 0.88,according to the opinions of experts to modify or delete the questionnaire,Finally,the constructed questionnaire of breast cancer patients formed 3 dimensions and 18 items of peer support questionnaire.4.Questionnaire reliability and validity:The Bartlett’s spherical test was 2184.575(P<0.01),KMO statistic is 0.873,suitable for factor analysis,three common factors were extracted and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 62.884%.The overall validity of the questionnaire was 0.96,the retest reliability was 0.996,and the internal consistency reliability Cronbach’s alpha was 0.811.Questionnaire has good reliability and validity.5.The results of questionnaire:In this study,we investigated the three dimensions of supportive form,information needs,emotional needs and total needs for peer support of breast cancer patients with chemotherapy respectively were(16.39 ± 5.3),(32.38 ± 5.84),(19.64 ± 4.2)and(68.41 ± 11.87).Breast cancer patients with chemotherapy on peer support form,information,emotional needs the most are forum mode,rehabilitation exercise methods and peer supporters to share the emotional regulation and the skills to cope with stress.Multiple linear regression analysis found the convenience of transportation,the enthusiasm of participating in group activities,the way to talk when confronted with troubles,and the education level are the main influencing factors to the support needs of patients with chemotherapy breast cancer.Conclusion:The study prepared the questionnaire of peer support for breast cancer patients with chemotherapy has good reliability and validity,can provide experience and guidance for future nursing practice.Breast cancer patients with chemotherapy have a higher demand for peer support,whether the traffic is convenient,enthusiasm for participating in group activities,the way of dealing with trouble,and education affect the peer support needs of breast cancer patients.we should be based on the characteristics of breast cancer patients to provide the most appropriate peer support services.
