Objective:Relationship between Renin Activity and Left Ventricular Hypertrophy in Uigur,Kazak and Han Patients with Essential Hypertension in Xinjiang. Methods:From January 2013 to September 2016,281 patients with essential hypertension who were admitted to the Hypertension Unit of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2013 to September 2016 were screened out,of whom 98 were Uighur,Kazak 64 cases,Han 119 cases, comparing the general clinical data and plasma renin activity in three groups of patients, and analyze the relationship between renin activity and left ventricular hypertrophy.Results:(1)The differences of gender, smoking history, drinking history, creatinine, urea, fasting blood glucose, serum creatinine,Triglyceride, total cholesterol,LDL-C and HDL-C(P> 0.05).There were significant differences among the three groups in 24 h SBP,24 h DBP,IVST,LVPWT and LVMI(P <0.05).There was no significant difference in LVEDD,LVESD and EF between the three groups(P>0.05);(2)The subjects were left ventricular hypertrophy in non-LV hypertensive group 232(82.56%),left ventricular hypertrophy group 49(17.44%),hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy in the course of hypertension,PRA higher than non-left Hypertrophic group, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in age,BMI,smoking, drinking, serum potassium, serum sodium, creatinine, uric acid, urea, serum fasting glucose,TG,TC,HDL-C and LDL-> 0.05).The subjects were divided into ethnic groups. The incidence of left ventricular hypertrophy in Uygur,Kazak and Han patients with hypertension was 29.60%,14.06% and 11.76%,respectively.The incidence of left ventricular hypertrophy The difference was statistically significant(?2 = 12.410,P <0.05).Among all patients,185(64.46%)were male and 96(33.45%)were female. The incidence of left ventricular hypertrophy in male patients was 12.97% The incidence of left ventricular hypertrophy was 26.04%.The incidence of left ventricular hypertrophy in women with essential hypertension was higher than that of men with essential hypertension(?2= 7.498,P <0.05).(3)Logistic regression analysis showed that gender(OR = 0.279,P <0.05),with or without left ventricular hypertrophy as the dependent variable, gender, age, duration of hypertension,ethnicity,24 h SBP,24 h DBP renin activity as independent variables(OR = 2.467,P = 0.002);24h SBP(OR = 1.078,P = 0.000);high renin activity(OR = 2.406,P = 0.046)Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that gender(OR = 0.323,P = 0.041);Age(OR = 4.808,P = 0.040),high renin activity(OR = 4.182,9,P = 0.040);SBP,(OR = 4.853,P = 0.043)were risk factors for left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with essential hypertension in Kazaks.Sex(OR = 0.106,P = 0.004)is a risk factor for left ventricular hypertrophy in Han patients with essential hypertension. Conclusion:The renin activity of Uygur patients with essential hypertension was higher than that of Han and Kazakans. The high renin activity was the risk factor of left ventricular hypertrophy in Uighur hypertensive patients.
