Objective: To assess the relationship between neutrophil-to-platelet ratio(NPR)and short term outcome with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI).Methods: The patients with STEMI were diagnosed consecutively in our hospital since 2015.The first blood routine information was recorded and the related NPR was calculated before the percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).The prognosis of patients is in prospective observation and all-cause mortality for the finish event. These patients, followed up in 30 days, subdivided into all-cause death group and survival group. The correlation of NPR between these two groups was analyzed by Student's t-test and chi-square analysis.Based on the receiver-operating characteristic(ROC),to get the NPR-cut-off value by analyses drawing the end point event for all-cause mortality. Then the patients were separated into high-NPR and low-NPR ratio groups.Logistic regression analysis was utilized to analyze the correlation between two NPR groups and 30 days all-cause death factor. Results: There are 413 patients with STEMI included in the study from 2015 to 2017.All patients were followed up for 30 days.Defined the occurrence of all-cause death as the end point events. These patients were divided into all-cause death group and survival group(24 vs 389 people). The level of NPR in all-cause death group was higher than that in the survival group(0.0513 ± 0.0215 vs 0.0398 ± 0.0183,P =0.018).Through the ROC(the area under the curve was 0.668,P <0.05),the selected objects were divided into high-NPR group and low-NPR group(196 vs 217 people)by NPR-cut-off value(NPOR =0.0336).The proportion of end point events in the high-NPR group was happened more than that in low-NPR group(9.2% vs 2.8% P =0.005).Logistic regression analysis showed NPR is an independent risk factor(odds ratio = 4.595,P =0.003)of all-cause death in 30 days of comparing the high NPR ratio group to the low one. Conclusion: The high level of NPR is a risk factor for short-term prognosis of patients with STEMI,which may have a certain predictive value for the risk of death in patients with STEMI.
