Study Of Osteodynia Vinegar Powder For Its Therapeutic Effect On Painful And Swelling Joints Of Patients After Knee Arthroscopic Surgery Through External Application On Patient Joints

PurposeThe study is to evaluate therapeutic effect of osteodynia vinegar powder on painful and swelling joints of patients with knee osteoarthritis after knee arthroscopic surgery through external application on patient joints,to seek for a safe and effective traditional Chinese medicine-featured therapy for the treatment of painful and swelling joints of patients with knee osteoarthritis after knee arthroscopic surgery and to improve therapeutic effect of arthroscopic surgery.MethodsWe selected 60 patients with knee osteoarthritis in osteoarticular department of General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Command of PLA and gave them arthroscopic surgery.Those patients were divided into two groups based on random and control principle,group of osteodynia vinegar powder and group of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel(group voltaren).Group of osteodynia vinegar powder was given with one external application of osteodynia vinegar powder for one hour every day,in coordination with irradiating treatment of TDP instrument;group of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel was given with one external application of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel for one hour every day.Both groups received ten days of treatment from the second day after arthroscopic surgery.After observation of perimeter reductions respectively at 2cm of upper pole of patella,midpoint of patella and the thickest point of gastrocnemius,we have a contrast of the two groups on knee joint pain and knee joint functions through VAS score(for knee joint pain)and KSS score(for knee joint functions)respectively after one day,three days,five days,seven days and ten days of arthroscopic surgery.ResultsThe data of 5 groups at two time points were analyzed by repeated measures ANOVA.1.Contrast of VAS scores for knee joint pain: Contrast difference between group of osteodynia vinegar powder and group of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel on the first day has no statistical significance(P>0.05);VAS integral on the third day,the fifth day,the seventh day and the tenth day in group of osteodynia vinegar powder is significantly lower than that in group of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel,which has remarkable statistical significance(P<0.05).2.Contrast of KSS scores for knee joint functions: Contrast of knee joint functions between group of osteodynia vinegar powder and group of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel on the first day has no statistical significance(P>0.05);VAS score on the third day,the fifth day,the seventh day and the tenth day in group of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel is significantly higher than that in group of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel,which has remarkable statistical significance(P<0.05).3.Postoperative perimeters at 2cm of upper pole of patella,midpoint of patella and the thickest point of gastrocnemius: Contrast of swelling value between group of osteodynia vinegar powder and group of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel on the first day has no statistical significance(P>0.05);contrast of swelling value on the third day,the fifth day,the seventh day and the tenth day in group of osteodynia vinegar powder is more remarkable than that in group of diclofenac diethylamine emulgel(P<0.05).All patients during treatment show no drug allergy or adverse reactions.ConclusionAlthough both osteodynia vinegar powder and diclofenac diethylamine emulgel have good effect on treatment of painful and swelling knee joint after arthroscopic surgery,osteodynia vinegar powder has better effect without adverse reactions and relative complications.With clinical feasibility and safety,osteodynia vinegar powder as an easy and cheap traditional Chinese medicine externally used for the treatment of painful and swelling knee joint after arthroscopic surgery shall be widely applied.
