Objective:To analyze the relationship between cord bloodtrace elements and immune function indicatorsand asthmatic diseases in infants. Methods:Polymorphism chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism were used in genotyping IL18 gene rs61667799,rs779823889,IL13 gene rs20541,rs848,and IL4 gene rs2243250.Association between the single nucleotide polymorphisms and asthmatic disease were analyzed by logistic regression analysis.Fifty infants with confirmed asthmatic diseases and 60 normal infants who were admitted in our hospital and whose family agreed with collecting cord blood.3mL cord blood was collected from every infant when be born to determine cord blood trace elements, body fluidsand cellular immunity related indicators. The rates of deficiency of trace elements and the total rates of IgE elevation in both groups were statistically analyzed. The level of interleukin-18 and interleukin-4 were also tested.Results:IL18 gene rs61667799,rs779823889,IL13 gene rs20541,rs848,and IL4 gene rs2243250 were all polymorphism. However, there were no significance association between IL18 gene rs61667799,rs779823889,IL13 gene rs20541,rs848,and IL4 gene rs2243250 polymorphisms and asthmatic disease(P>0.05).The levels of cord blood Ca,Zn,Fein cases were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The fluid immunity of IgA,IgG levels were decreased in the asthmatic children, while the total IgE level was increased(P<0.05).The cellular immunity of CD8+ level was significantly lower in the case group than those in the control group, and CD4+/CD8+ was higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The rate of deficiency of trace elements and the total rate of IgE elevation in the asthmatic children(64.00%,54.00%)were significantly higher than those in the control children(16.67%,10.00%)(P<0.05).The level of interleukin 18 and interleukin 4 in the asthmatic children were significantly higher than those in the control children(P<0.05).Conclusion:Deficiency of cord bloodtrace elements and increase of total IgE and CD4+/CD8+levels,as well as increase of interleukin 18 and interleukin 4 may be involved in the occurrence and development of asthmatic diseases in infants.
