Objective:The initial screening is an important way to protect the health of blood donors and ensure the safety of blood quality. To provide scientific basis for further promoting and improving the work of free blood donation in Suzhou by understanding the characteristics of the non-qualified population of single platelets in area from March 2015 to February 2016.Methods:Extract Platelet donor in March 2015 to February of the following year in Suzhou Blood Center, collect data files and health consultation table as the research object for the research.Distinguish People who take part in blood donation into two parts: qualifiers and rejects, descriptive statistics and cause analysis according to demographic characteristics, temporal characteristics,etc.Result:15267 person-time are passed and 4237 person-time are failed in the 19504 person-time who registered platelet donation during the investigation. The failure rate for the platelet donation is 21.72%.The bad blood vessel(5.09%),ALT(4.81%),low white count(3.29%),and thrombocytopenia(3.28%)are the main reasons for the failure of the platelet donation.Univariate analysis was shown that gender, age, donation area, donation participant style, education level, history of blood donation and the donation time significantly affect the total or partial failure rate of the platelet donation(P all<0.05),the total failure rate of women was 20.01%,significantly lower than that of men.Failure rate for male blood donors failed in ALT,blood platelet, chyle blood, having eye of a needle, high Platelet,TP antibody are significantly higher than female donors.Female blood donors for the failure rate were significantly higher than men in low hemoglobin, low HCT,low HCT and Low HCT with low hemoglobin.Logistic analysis was shown that the gender, age, donation area, donation participant style, education level, history of blood donation and the donation time, etc.were associated with the risk of platelet donor failure.Compare to the male, the risk of platelet donor failure for the female decreased significantly(OR=0.89,95%CI:0.81-0.99);the donation population aged 26-35,36-45,46-55 and 56-60 showed the significantly decreasing tendency for the failure risk compared with the young population aged 18-25(ORs are fluctuated among 0.2~0.3;Compare to donors from Suzhou urban area, the donors from other districts have an higher risk of platelet donor failure(OR=1.30,95%CI:1.16-1.47 and OR=2.32,95%CI:2.05-2.62);the higher education the donors have the lower risk of the platelet donor failure; The mutual donor style is also associated with the 42 times of increasing risk of the failure compared to the non-mutual donors(OR=41.96,95%CI:37.38-46.60);The OR for the mutual donor style between lineal or collateral consanguinity were 11.0(95%CI:8.58-14.11)and 2.24(95%CI:1.73-2.90),respectively;Compare to the donation time on Monday, the donors performed the blood donation on Saturday have a lower risk of failure(OR=0.80,95%CI:0.71-0.90),however,on Friday they have a higher risk of failure(OR=1.28,95%CI:1.12-1.45)?T.Conclusion:The younger age, male sex, lower educational background, blood donation time at Friday, participation form and other factors of blood donors are associated with the increasing risk of the blood donation failure for the platelet. The main reason is the lack of knowledge about their own health and blood donation knowledge,or because of emotional, economic factors and other reasons to conceal their own situation. We should carry out targeted recruitment for promoting of voluntary blood donors, encourage female blood donors to donate blood again, promote the high education level people participate in blood donation movement actively. And we should strengthen the propaganda before blood donation, carry out precontract actively.
