Objective:1.To investigate the distributing characteristics of blood lipids levels and different types of dyslipidemia in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in Changshu City.2.To investigate the factors associated with dyslipidemia in patients with T2 DM in Changshu City.Subjects and Methods:1.Subjects:During 2013-2014,9555 T2 DM patients included in the national basic public health service were recruited from Changshu city for the present study. All of participants were asked to provide signed the informed consent form.2.Methods:The participants were investigated by trained interviewer with uniform questionnaire, physical examination and blood sample collection. The questionnaire included birth date, gender, smoking, drinking, history of diabetes, dyslipidemia.Height, weight, waist circumference and hip circumference were measured by standard methods.Fasting venous blood samples were collected in the morning, and serum samples were isolated and transferred to the laboratory at low temperature and stored at-80?.Total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)were measurement with commercial kits.3.Statistical analysis:Epidata3.0 software was used to establish a database, and all data was checked after data entry for two times.SPSS17.0 software was used to conduct the statistical analyses. All p-values were based on a 2-sided test and a significance level of 0.05.Results:1.Among the 9555 participants,3863(40.43%)are males and 5692(59.57%)are females.9535(99.79%)are han nationality.4069(42.59%)belongs to 60-69 years old group.7064(73.93%)education level in primary school and below.8340(87.28%)married.5623(58.85%)are manual labour.6746(70.60%)total annual income of family between 40-150 thousand yuan.2.The distributing characteristics of blood lipids:(1)The mean levels of TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C were 5.18(4.55,5.82)mmol/L,1.55(1.11,2.22)mmol/L,3.09(2.54,3.67)mmol/L and 1.45(1.23,1.72)mmol/L,respectively.The prevalence rates of high TC,high TG,high LDL-C,low HDL-C and mixed hyperlipidemia were 15.27%,24.07%,12%,9.92% and 6.71%,respectively.(2)TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C levels in males were lower than those in females. The prevalence rates of high TC,high TG,high LDL-C and mixed hyperlipidemia in males were lower than females. However, the prevalence rate of low HDL-C in males was higher than those in females(all P<0.05).The differences of TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C levels and the prevalence rates of high TC,high TG,high LDL-C,low HDL-C and mixed hyperlipidemia were observed between different social demographic characteristics such as age, education level, marriage statue, occupation and family annual income(P<0.05).(3)TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C levels in smoking group were lower than those in nonsmoking group. The prevalence rates of high TC,high LDL-C in smoking group were lower than those in nonsmoking group. The prevalence rates of low HDL-C in smoking group was higher than those in nonsmoking group(all P<0.05).The differences of TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C levels, the prevalence rates of high TC,high TG,high LDL-C,low HDL-C and mixed hyperlipidemia between different behavior life style such as drinking, sleeping time and physical activity were statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)The levels of TG and LDL-C increased with BMI,while the level of HDL-C showed an opposite trend. The prevalence rates of high TG,high LDL-C,low HDL-C and mixed hyperlipidemia also increased with BMI(all P<0.05).The differences of TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C levels and the prevalence rates of high TC,high TG,high LDL-C,low HDL-C and mixed hyperlipidemia between different physical condition such as waist circumference,WHR,FPG,HbA1 c,diabetic complications were statistically significant.3.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that gender, age, education, occupation,BMI,waist circumference,WHR,physical activity, smoking, drinking,FPG and HbA1 c were significantly associated with high TC,high TG,high LDL-C,low HDL-C and mixed hyperlipidemia.Conclusions:1.The blood lipid levels and the prevalence of different types of dyslipidemia in T2 DM patients in Changshu City were higher than that in the general population. The prevalence rate of high TG was the highest, followed by high TC,high LDL-C,low HDL-C and mixed hyperlipidemia.2.The differences of the blood lipid levels and the prevalence of different types of dyslipidemia between different social demographic characteristics, life style and physical condition were statistically significant.3.Gender,age,education,occupation,BMI,waist circumference,WHR,physical activity, smoking, drinking,FPG,Hb A1 c,diabetic complications were significantly associated with different types of dyslipidemia.
