The Effect Of Nursing Adverse Event Reporting System On Nursing Quality

Objective The current study aimed to analyze and investigate the effect of nursing adverse event reporting system on nursing quality.Methods The nursing adverse events reported by clinical departments,occurred in 2012 and 2013,were analyzed.The numbers of initiative reported nursing adverse events and the total adverse events,together with the incidence of each adverse event and the nursing quality before and after the implementation of nursing adverse event reporting system were compared.Results After the implementation of nursing adverse event reporting system in2013,the numbers of initiative reported nursing adverse events increased significantly compared to that in 2012(P<0.05).The number of the fourth level nursing events decreased in 2013,and that of the fifth and sixth level nursing events stayed static,while the others increased.The incidence of each adverse event was visibly decreased except for that of getting lost.The nursing quality was improved obviously expcept for the awareness rate of health education.The rates of initiative reported nursing adverse events showed an increasing trend in 2014 and 2015,while the incidence of adverse events decreased year by year.Conclusions The implementation of nursing adverse event reporting system would encourage the initiative report of nursing adverse events,enhance nurses' awareness of risk,reduce nursing flaw and suing occurrence,improve the integrative nursing quality,and thereby contribute to the improvement of nursing quality.
