| Objective:To study of the clinical effect on treating the patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation with Acupuncture and Ginger Moxibustion therapy. To provide new ideas and objective evidence for treating the lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. Methods:Using the random number table method, the 100 patients with lumbar disc herniation who were included in the study were divided into two groups,50 cases in treatment group and 50 cases in control group. The treatment group were treated by acupuncture combine with Ginger Moxibustion therapy, once a day,six times a week and rest on Sunday,The major acupoints for acupuncture were Dachangshu(BL 25),Weizhong(BL 40),Huantiao(GB 30),Kunlun(BL 60),A-shi Point, and other acupoints according to TME syndrome type. The acupoints for ginger moxibustion were Pishu(BL 20),Shenshu(BL 23),Mingmen(Du4),Guanyuan(CV 4),Qihai(CV 6),while the control group were received daily oral 75 mg Diclofenac Sodium Sustained Release Tablets for 2 weeks. After treating for two tweeks, the two groups were compared with the McGill score, the Oswestry dysfunction index and the Japanese Orthopedic Association low back pain score(JOA),and a return visit after 1 month. All the collected data were analyzed under SPSS 19.0 statistical software. Results:In this study,100 patients were included in the study,in which two patients were losed in the treatment group and one in the control group.1.Before the treatment, the gender, age,Medical history, the scores of the McGill, the Oswestry dysfunction index and the Japanese Orthopedic Association low back pain score(JOA)including each subject of two groups werecompared, there were no significant difference between the two groups, which means comparable.2.The curative effect was compared between the two groups. The treatment group total effective rate was 97.92 %,including 2 cases cured,32 cases effective,13 cases effective and 1 case ineffective. And the control group total effective rate was 95.92 %,including 0 case cured,22 cases markedly effective,25 cases effective,2 cases ineffective, and the treatment group was better than the control group.3.The the McGill scores were compared. In the control group, both of them were significantly decreased, meaning that the two groups were significantly effective on treating the lumbar intervertebral disc herniation.Statistical analysis showed that the two groups were the same effective in the VAS and PPI scores, while the treatment group was better than the control group on the PRI’s sensory score and the PRI’s emotional score.4.Comparing the two groups’ s Oswestry dysfunction index,Both groups had significant declines before and after treatment. There was no significant difference between the treatment group and the control group on improving Oswestry dysfunction index.5.The scores of the Japanese Orthopedic Association low back pain score(JOA)were compared, showing that the two groups was significantly increased, however the subjective scoring between the control group and the treatment were insignificantly difference. The clinical signs score, the daily activity score and the total score were significantly different between the two group. It means that acupuncture and ginger moxibustion in treatment of LIDH was more effevtive.6.The long-term effect of the two groups after one month after the treatment was compared. The scores of JOA the treatment group were higher than the control group. There were significant differences. It shows that the treatment group is superior to the control in long-term effect. Conclusion:According to this study, acupuncture combined with ginger moxibustion treatment of LIDH is significantly better than western medicine treatment. There were same effectiveness in treating LIDH with acupuncture combine with ginger moxibustion and western medicine treatment in the sore of VAS,PPI,Oswestry dysfunction index and JOA’s subjective score. However,in thePRI’s sensory score and the PRI’s emotional score, the clinical signs score, the daily activity score and the total score, acupuncture and ginger moxibustion in treatment of LIDH was more effevtive. The treatment group is superior to the control in long-term effect. In conclusion, acupuncture combined with ginger moxibustion in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation has the advantages of better symptoms, more stable disease, low recurrence rate, and it is worth further clinical application. |
