Objective To explore whether mild anemia is a risk factor for QTc prolongation in patients with coronary heart disease by retrospective analysis of the relationship between different mild anemia and QTc interval of coronary heart disease patients.Studies have shown that anemia is an independent risk factor for adverse cardiovascular events. The occurrence of malignant arrhythmia is one of the common manifestations of adverse cardiovascular events. In recent years,QT interval prolongation has been widely regarded as a predictor of malignant arrhythmia and cardiac sudden death. It has not been confirmed that whether mild anemia could led to adverse cardiovascular events by changing QTc intervals. Methods A total of 489 patients who were demonstrated by coronary angiography were divided into four groups:.coronary heart disease and hemoglobin normal group, coronary heart disease and mild anemia group, mild anemia group, control group. The QTc intervals were compared between two groups after correction of basic data.We analyzed the relationship between hemoglobin level and QTc interval, and put those factors which affecting the prolongation of QTc interval into binary logistic regression analyses. Results 1.By correcting clinical basic data, the QTc interval of these four groups were analyzed by variance analysis,we found that the QTc interval in the coronary heart disease and mild anemia group was significantly longer than any other group. The QTc interval was significantly increased in the coronary heart disease and mild anemia group(427.56±33.73ms)compared with the coronary heart disease and hemoglobin normal group(412.19±30.70ms)and the control group(407.65±26.56ms).By compared with the coronary heart disease group, control group,,we had found that the differences of QTc interval were statistically significant.2.We found that the Mild anemia were negatively correlated with the QTc intervals in patients with coronary heart disease,(Pearson coefficient r=-0.232,P < 0.05),by using bivariate correlation analysis of the hemoglobin levels and the QTc intervals.3.We found that age(OR 1.032,95%Cl 1.006-1.058),acute coronary syndrome(OR 1.931,95%Cl 1.190-3.133),and mild anemia(OR 1.387,95%Cl 1.108-3.735)were independent risk factors of QTc interval prolongation,by logistic regression analysis.Conclusions:1.The mild anemia is negatively correlated with QTc interval in patients with coronary heart disease.2.The low hemoglobin level is one of the risk factors of coronary heart disease patients with QTc interval prolongation.
