| ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to develop a scale of Empowerment Care Evaluation Instrument of Coronary Heart Disease(CHD)Patients after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention(PCI),which would apply to Chinese cultural background.This scale was used as a survey tool to investigate the patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)after PCI,and to provide the scientific basis for nursing staff to develop effective nursing measures.Methods1.The formation of the initial scale: Based on the review of relevant literature,the clinical observation and semi-structured interviews with patients,we firstly formulated the dimensions and items of Empowerment Care Evaluation Instrument.Through 2 rounds of expert consultation on item additions and amendments,the initial scale formed.2.The formation of the formal scale: The initial scale was used as investigative tool to investigate 240 patients with CHD after PCI,the collected data were analyzed by item analysis and factor analysis,and the reliability of the scale was further evaluated by reliability and validity test.3.Clinical investigation: The scale was used as a research tool to investigate the level of Empowerment Care of patients with CHD after PCI,the collected data were analyzed by t-test and variance analysis to compare patients with different general information of Empowerment Care.The items with statistical significance were analyzed by multiple linear stepwise regression analysis.Results1.The formal scale consists of 5 dimensions: social support(4 items),providing necessary information(4 items),the disease management(3 items),coping with stress(4 items),improving cognitive(4 items).2.Analysis of reliability and validity of scale:(1)Reliability:(1)The Cronbach's ? coefficient of the whole scale was 0.854,all dimensions Cronbach's ? coefficient are between 0.655 to 0.741.(2)The split-half reliability coefficient of the whole scale was 0.778,all dimensions split-half reliability coefficient are between 0.618 to 0.712,the reliability of the scale was good.(2)Validity:(1)Face validity:The initial scale was drafted based on reading a lot of domestic and foreign literatures,semi-structured interviews with patients with CHD after PCI and Delphi expert consultation,and then it was used a variety of statistical methods and thus showed good face validity.(2)Content validity: The CVI of the formal scale was 0.954.(3)Construct validity:There are 5 factors extracted by EFA,which explained for 58.79% variances.The correlation coefficients between items and its common factor ranged from 0.636 to 0.809(P<0.01).The correlation coefficients among factors ranged from 0.294 to 0.660(P<0.01).The correlation coefficients between factors and the total scale ranged from 0.660 to 0.764(P<0.01).The scale showed good construct validity.(4)Criterion-related validity: Using the GSES as the validity criterion,the result showed that the Pearson correlation coefficient between the GSES and the total scale was 0.590;the Pearson correlation coefficient between the GSES and the scores of different dimensions was between 0.363 to 0.530,both showed a statistically significant correlation.The scale showed good criterion-related validity.3.The formal scale was used as a research tool to investigate the level of Empowerment Care of patients with CHD after PCI,the result showed that the total mean score of Empowerment Care was(3.38±0.47),it was at moderate level.Satisfaction with General self-efficacy,age,occupation,past the number of hospitalizations were the influencing factors for the level of Empowerment Care.These four factors explained 55.3% of the total variance.Conclusions1.The Evaluation scale of Empowerment Care of CHD Patients after PCI strictly follow the principle of the scale,and the scale structure is more scientific,stable,good reliability and validity.2.The overall level of patients with CHD after PCI in the middle.General self-efficacy,age,occupation,past the number of hospitalizations due to CHD will affect the level of care after PCI. |
