Objective To investigate the correlation between plasma Wnt5 a levels and coronary heart disease and osteoporosis in elderly patients and its influencing factors.Methods 210 cases of coronary heart disease confirmed by coronary angiography were enrolled in the Department of Geriatrics,Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from Nov.2014 to Nov.2015,the control group of 139 cases.Serum Wnt5 a,bone turnover markers and other biochemical markers were measured before operation.CHD group was divided into mild,moderate and severe groups according to coronary angiography and Gensini quantitative score.According to whether CHD with osteoporosis is further divided into CHD with osteoporosis and CHD with non-osteoporosis subgroup.The correlation between Wnt5 a level and severity of CHD was analyzed by single factor analysis of variance(ANOVA).Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the correlation factors of Wnt5 a.ROC curve was used to analyze the sensitivity and specificity of Wnt5 a in predicting CHD.Results(1)Compared with the control group,Wnt5 a level in CHD group was significantly higher than that in control group [(0.341 ± 0.039)ng / ml vs(0.292 ± 0.032)ng / ml,P <0.05].The level of Wnt5 a in CHD with osteoporosis group was significantly higher than that in non-osteoporosis group(0.353 ± 0.040)ng / ml(0.329 ± 0.038)ng / ml,P <0.05).(2)The levels of Wnt5 a in plasma of patients with mild,moderate and severe coronary artery lesions were statistically significant(0.322 ± 0.043)ng / ml,(0.339 ± 0.036)ng / ml,(0.362 ± 0.038)ng / ml,P <0.05).There was no significant difference between mild group and moderate group(P> 0.05),and the degree of severe lesions was higher than that of any other group(P <0.05).(3)Plasma Wnt5 a was positively correlated with CHD(r=0.048,P<0.05),osteoporosis(r=0.037,P<0.05),?-CTX(r=0.827,P<0.05),TC(r=0.891,P <0.05)and Gensini scores(r=0.513,P<0.05).And negatively correlated with PINP(r=-0.714,P <0.05),HDL-C(r=-0.821,P <0.05).(4)The area under the curve(AUC)of the ROC curve of coronary artery disease and Wnt5 a was 0.787.Conclusion Plasma Wnt5 a is associated with the severity of CHD and severity of coronary artery disease.It is closely related to osteoporosis,suggesting that Wnt5 a may be a common target of the pathogenesis of the two diseases.
