Objectives: To study the correlation between BMI and the incidence of pancreatitis and the characteristics of BMI in patients with pancreatitis, and to explore the correlation between BMI and the severity of pancreatitis. Methods: Methods a retrospective analysis of 57 cases of pancreatitis patients admitted to our hospital from October 2014 to October 2016 were enrolled in the study group, and the patients with non-pancreatitis in the same period were selected as the control group. Then try to find out the characteristics of BMI in the patients with pancreatitis analyzed retrospectively in this study.According to the Ransfon score,APACHE II score and CT severity index, the patients were divided into MAP group and SAP group. The acute pancreatitis patients were divided into normal weight group, overweight group and obesity group according to body mass index in patients.By comparing the different patients with or without obesity(BMI 28kg/m~2 fand incidence)days of hospitalization, complications and WBC to explore the correlation between BMI and the severity of pancreatitis.Enumeration data used ?2 test, measurement data used t test. Results: There were significant differences in body mass index(P<0.05)between the disease group and the control group. The body mass index in the diseased group BMI 24.816 ± 4.0175,the control group BMI 21.019±2.1306,the body mass index of the disease group was significantly higher than that of the control group. The severity of pancreatitis and body mass index were significantly different(P<0.05).In the normal group, the percentage of SAP was 15%,while it was 18.2% in overweight group and 53.3% in obesity group. It can be seen that with the increasing of BMI,the incidence of SAP increased, and the incidence of SAP increased significantly in obese patients.Pancreatitis patients with obesity(BMI?28kg/m~2)or patients without obesity)with acute pancreatitis(BMI<28kg/m~2)in the days of hospitalization,WBC and complication rate were significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusions: Obesity(BMI?28kg/m~2)played a role in the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis.Obesity(BMI?28kg/m~2)played an important role in the development of the severity of AP,significantly increased SAP incidence, significantly increased the incidence of hospitalization time, complications and inflammatory reaction in patients with AP.It is of great significance to lose weight for obese patients with pancreatitis and obese people with non-disease.
